Zhejiang elements shine at Astana Expo

With the 2017 Astana Expo developing well in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, since June 10, Zhejiang province in eastern China has debuted on the global stage, launching a special event, Zhejiang Day, at the expo on June 23.

Here are some Zhejiang elements at the expo that you shouldn't miss.

Agreements

Adhering to the expo's theme of "Future Energy and Green Silk Road", four agreements promoting sustainable energy development were signed between Kazakhstani enterprises and ones from Zhejiang, including Zhejiang Windey Co, Zhejiang Energy Group, and Jumore, an e-commerce platform for bulk commodities.

Cultural performances

Several performances featuring distinctive Zhejiang cultural characteristics were staged at the expo on June 23, including the renowned Yueju Opera The Butterfly Lovers, the folk melody Tea Picking, and ancient artistic techniques of rice sculpture and watercolor board printing.

Uniforms

The uniforms of staff members and volunteers working at the China Pavilion are "designed and made in Zhejiang" and combine simplicity and elegance.

Companies

Aside from enterprises specialized in energy fields, a total of 85 Zhejiang companies, including those focused on areas of environmental protection, e-commerce, tourism and chemical engineering, also took part in the expo.
